VP Pence continues to hedge and avoid answering the hard questions regarding Trump and January 6 US Capitol attack. Yes, the January 6 attack on the Capitol was unprecedented by any standard! The world gasped, watched intently, and wondered about the fate of the USA and frankly their futures. Not because they are so dependent on the US but for nearly 250 years the United States of America has led the world in principle and championed the rights and freedoms of All peoples.
In the interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, where is asked if he considered Trump’s January 6 efforts criminal he responds about himself “He did the best that day under the constitution …” And those are the only true non-political words that he said during the entire interview. Keep in mind an interview with Dana Bash is not a hostage crisis nor an ambush. Seems like he and Dana know each other with the permission of his wife. I’m alluding to his comments when he was campaigning in 2016 that he could not “be alone with another woman!” He points to alleged whistle-blower obstruction by the President’s family – Hunter Biden. Let me remind you Hunter Biden is the President’s son and a formal addict and probably has a few more skeletons in his closet but he is not running for office, has not commented on the Trump issues, and has taken the brunt of GOP Congressmen trying to bring him and President Biden down. Even to the point that they were involved in his divorce hearing in one manner or another. Wasn’t the unwritten policy to keep a President’s family members out of the direct path of Presidential politics? I can surely point to Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner having a direct influence on Trump’s Administration. Making deals with the Chinese and the Saudis which have paid off handsomely for them and the rest of the Trump business. Donald Jr’s involvement in the January 6 incitement ended with the attack and pillaging of the Capitol building and several Capitol police being hurt and some committing suicide as a result. How Republican Party members wanted us to believe that “it was like any ordinary day with tours and tourists at the Capitol.” VP Pence comments that Trump’s prosecution will be dependent on his intent! That’s a comment that should insult everyone’s intelligence. We know what his intent was. He telegraphed that even before the election by calling it “rigged” and claiming that mail-in ballots would be fraudulent. Some 40 cases and reviews later by the states showed no more than maybe 20 ballots that did not meet the criteria, not fraudulent but criteria. Trump was setting us All up for January 6 and he felt he would be victorious and turn the Electoral Confirmation on its head for the first time in our country’s history.
- We should All take offense at what VP Pence has said. His lack of leadership is obvious. Tries to walk that fine line without commitment or even an opinion. A true politician – there you go! And by the way, Dana Bash has definitely lost her Mojo! At the town hall and at this State of the Union interview she just doesn’t ask hard questions nor pursue the lie for the truth.
