Former President Trump and six others have been indicted by the January 6 Special Counsel Jack Smith. Trump was charged with 4 charges; 1) conspiracy to defraud the United States; 2) conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding; 3) obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding; and 4) conspiracy against rights. The case has been ongoing since late last year. The co-conspirators not named in the indictment allude to attorneys that supported his false narrative about the election being rigged and stolen from him. At the top of these charges is the fact he did incite the January 6 mob to raid the Capitol chanting “Hang Mike Pence!” It came amidst VP Pence validating the electoral process at the Capitol that day. Hence, one of the charges. Also, Trump started fabricating early in his administration the idea that he may not vacate the Presidency should he be voted out in 2020. He disenchanted the public about the democratic process, and raised suspicions about our government referring to it as the “deep state!” Many times he stated the election would be rigged and thousands of invalid votes would be submitted. Trump knew exactly what he was doing and had been developing a reason for the overthrow of the electoral process – our democratic values midterm through his administration. Many drank the cool aid and continue to do so until today. During that same time, the large majority of the GOP in Congress and the Senate tend to side with him and demonize the DOJ and the FBI intruding on his rights! This is the same person that has lied thousands of times, that tried to get the DOJ, AG Barr to support his efforts, the one who fired FBI Director Comey, Assistant Director MacCabe, fired AG Sessions All for Not doing his bidding. At the same time, Republicans keep spouting a two-tier justice system when it comes to Hunter Biden – a private non-political citizen. Yet, they want special consideration given Trump – we are All equal under the law! He has broken the law over and over and continues to repeat the lie of himself as a victim of the law. Subsequently, Republicans have been diminishing our legal system referring to it as “weaponization”, the FBI, and anyone or anything else that stands against Trump or some semblance of sanity. Can you smell the stench of the swamp he created? There’s much more to come from the indictment – stay tuned.
