The Debt Debate

Once again the whole of America and the world are on hold. More so, the American citizen for those on government programs, veterans, civil servants, contractors, and so on … If you have any business with the government you are affected. The GOP states very little is being cut back yet, those I mentioned number in the millions. Social Security recipients number close to 67 million. The GOP wants to get people who are on benefits and physically able employed and that’s all good and rightly so. Then they want to cut taxes for the rich or currently reduce IRS funding for programs targeted at the collection of taxes from the well-to-do. During the Trump Administration, the debt ceiling was raised three times and the top 1% received a tax break. Maybe if we tax that 1% and get people that are on benefits to work can we as Americans enjoy a better life and not be suffocated by inflation and taxes. During the Bush Administration and the economic failure of 2008, he also gave the top 1% a tax cut selling it as an investment in job creation. Never happened! The jobs did not come in until the second year of the Obama Administration. Yes, it takes time to trickle but that bust was caused by the unscrupulous dealings of the banking industry and mortgage lenders. Seems we got a small taste of that recently as well – the banks. Laws are in place but no one to enforce them!

  • It doesn’t matter if you are a Republican or a Democrat if the budget doesn’t pass you will be impacted!
