An awesome soccer match at the Gold Cup quarter-finals at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. Mexico has squeaked through and beat Costa Rica (2-0). El Tri came out scoreless in tonight’s game but was certainly instrumental in the match. Scorers for the Mexican machine were Oberlin Pineada and Erick Sanchez.
A controversial play between Mexicos’ Henry Watson and Costa Rican defender, Kendall Watson may have been the deciding break for the Costa Rican defeat. Even Costa Rica’s coach, Fernando Suarez had to conciliate the penalty that was awarded to Mexico.
What now, well Mexico faces the US Men’s National Team Thursday, June 15, in Las Vegas. The 2023 Gold Cup competition will be played throughout 13 US cities this summer. Teams participating will be providing highly anticipated matches at every step.
