The sentencing of the leader Oath Keepers leader, Stewart Rhodes to 18 years has proven the case as justice for All Americans whether you accept it or not. The attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, is nothing to shrug off as your everyday news, fake news, or “any other day at the Capitol” as one congressman misrepresented. It was an outright attack on our democracy! The rule of law in this country was established under the Constitution some 234 years ago. Not to forget the fight for its freedom, the civil war, two world wars, and a few conflicts around the world. Conflicts where our brave have lost their lives and suffered to further the freedoms and liberties we have as Americans. The actions the participants took on the Capitol that dreadful day were nothing but treasonous. Yet, those that led the insurrection remain unscathed so far. A little mention in the media of their role to incite. Our own Commander-In-Chief vowed to be there and support them as they marched on the Capitol. To stop what had been written into the Constitution – to validate the election by the Vice President. The crowds chanted “Hang Mike Pence (VP)!” There has been a general acceptance by the GOP legislators to accept what can only be considered a “terrorist attack” on our government as necessary or “misrepresentation” by the liberal news media – Politics and greed for power over sensibility!
If you think that our freedoms and values were stripped away by the outcome of the election. Stop and think about the vulnerability this one chaotic action has denoted to aggressor nations like Russia and China. Smaller players like North Korea and Iran continue to work and chip away at our democracy. Like hungry sharks this embarrassing and violent display on our democratic government exposed a soft underbelly in our society. The assault on the Capitol did nothing but demonize and minimize the idea of democracy to these authoritarian governments. Now, they see that they can actively recruit or manipulate US citizens to do their will and bidding without their direct visible involvement. Recently reported another Russian government high-ranking official died suddenly. He is suspected of having been killed by the Putin regime because of his outspoken position against the Ukrainian War. This makes him the twelfth High profiled Russian Official killed or dying under suspicious circumstances. There’s been three or so that have jumped off high buildings, shot themselves and their families, or poisoned themselves. This is who the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys, QAnon, and other extremist groups are inviting to sit at the table with all Americans and decide our destiny.
