Amongst the number of legislative attacks, he has hurled on Florida’s citizens comes another of his twisted convictions that “slaves developed skills, which, in some instances, could be applied for their benefit.” Since the rise of mankind, people do learn to survive under the worst of conditions but being under servitude and treated worst than you would treat a farm beast is Not what I would consider a “learning environment with takeaway benefits!” Florida’s Board of Education is requiring teachers to follow up with any discussions on slavery and turn it into a positive! Governor DeSantis has minimized equity in education, gone to war with Disney on gay rights, and instituted the largely known Don’t Say Gay Bill across all school levels which prohibits discussion of student sexuality. He has enacted legislation that has scared many immigrants away from seeking agricultural work in Florida for fear of being arrested and deported. Pressed on Book banning of what he refers to as WOKE ideas. Another of his ludicrous legislative actions is the Wrongs to Our Kids and Employees Act – WOKE), banning schools and businesses from engaging in activities or policies people feel “guilt, anguish or any form of psychological distress” because of their race, gender, sex, or national origin. The interpretation is to say if you are “white” you shouldn’t have to deal with the unreasonable actions of the past taken by slave owners, police, places of business, etc. …
Sounds a lot like what Hitler convinced the German population before starting his murderous agenda towards the Jews. He banned many books that talked about freedoms and certain equitable ideologies, and cultural Jewish successes. Hitler’s propaganda embraced a dishonest perception of Jews which eventually led to their interment and 6 million Jews being murdered in camps throughout the then German-held empire. Putin and his grip on the Russian citizen have taken the very same steps over his 20-plus year control of the Russian Federation. He wants to bring Russia back to its former glory at all costs. Russians in general truly believe that Ukraine is a Nazi Regime and a threat to the Motherland! Putin has denied his citizens the truth by riding the press and even incarcerating anyone that criticizes him.
Not so ridiculous because that’s what you hear from the Republican Party currently. Raising suspicion of our long-standing governmental agencies conspiring with hidden agendas to limit our freedoms. The movement to limit and even ban free speech from those that challenge Republican opponents and demonize their efforts. Directly involved in campaigning for false information to dimmish the other side’s agenda or strengthen their authority over the regular citizen. Little by little you can see repetitions of the past that led to genocide or conflict involving the entire globe.
