Former President Pence held his first town hall shortly after announcing his candidacy for President of the United States. He finds it appalling that a Search Warrant was executed on former President Trump. Refers to equal treatment under the law! When do regular citizens get a chance to correct something that they did wrong without penalty? States that no man is above the law but then again “we are sending a terrible message to the wider of the world” referring to Trump and his potential indictment. He further states “ We are the emblem of democracy we are the symbol of justice … indicting a former President of the US sends a terrible message …” Yet, waffles again and states “No one is above the law.” VP Pence never came out strongly against the Capitol riot, the destruction, and the deaths that followed. To say he was upholding the rule of law and character amidst adversity, I think not! Though he did eventually do the right thing and validate the election as the Constitution requires. He has stood silent when it came to Trump even while a slew of contentious remarks have been unleashed on him by the former President.
Proud of the fact that under the Trump administration. Is he owning up to the three tax breaks for the rich (top 1%) under the administration? Someone has to pay the bills! Why is it always falling on the middle class, and lower economic status and passing the burden to our future generations? Take as an example Trump claims he is a billionaire and only paid $75,000 in taxes! While the middle class and others pay a substantial percentage of taxes compared to Trump’s unfair share.
To be fair some of the other questions related to abortion, gender identity, and the war on Ukraine are within reasonable debate. Though he does criticize anyone thinking that Putin is a friend. Yet, his former partner referred to Putin as a “genius”. I find too much hyperbole and hypocrisy in his town hall meeting.
- Former VP Biden’s town hall responses on America’s rebound to a stable economy and global leader status are not reassuring. More of the same ole same ole!
